Sev Sarvedu
A milk pudding served as the sweet course of a meal.
    Preparation Method
  1. On a low flame, melt ghee in a heavy bottomed pan. Add vermicelli. Sauté till it turns light golden in colour.
  2. In another pan mix sugar, milk and water. Simmer till the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add this to the vermicelli. Stir continuously. Cook on a low flame till the vermicelli is tender.
  4. Add cardamom powder. Garnish. Serve after 10 minutes.
    Additional Note
  • Add 1/2 cup warm water if the vermicelli is not tender. Too much water will turn it lumpy.

  1. 1 cup thick vermicelli (dry, maida sev)
  2. 1 cup milk
  3. 1/4 cup sugar (approx.)
  4. 4 teaspoons ghee
  5. 1/4 cup water
  6. 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)
  7. 10 raisins (optional)
  8. 4 almonds (slivers-optional)
