Gobi Paratha
Indian wheat bread stuffed with cabbage

Preparation Method

      For the dough
    1. Combine all the ingredients of the dough and knead to form a soft dough.
      For the stuffing
    1. In a bowl, mix well all the ingredients of the stuffing.
      To Proceed
    1. Take small portion of the dough and roll out using a rolling pin. Now take some portion of the stuffing and put on it. Seal the paratha by folding all the sides.
    2. Apply some dry flour on both the sides of the dough formed.
    3. Again roll out the dough to form a paratha. Use dry flour if required while rolling.
    4. Put the paratha on a pre heated griddle. Turn it upside down after when light brown spots appear on the bottom side.
    5. Apply ghee oil on all the sides of the paratha. Flip the paratha and apply oil if required on the other side. Shallow fry the paratha and cook till it turns golden brown in colour.
    6. Serve hot with raita/curd/coriander green chutney/tomato ketchup.

    1. 3 cups whole wheat flour
    2. salt to taste
    3. water as required
    4. For the stuffing
    5. 1 cup grated cabbage
    6. 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
    7. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
    8. 2 teaspoons green chillies (finely chopped)
    9. a few coriander leaves (chopped)
    10. salt to taste
    11. oil (for shallow frying)
